SMS REPORT CLASSIFICATIONS

DELIVERED
SMS is delivered

Controlling MSC system failure
The SMS got buffered due to a MSC issue and got delivered by retry.
So the following one is the opposit.

FAILED - Delivery fail - Controlling MSC system failure
The SMS got buffered due to a temporaryMSC issue and which could not get resolved before the validity period of the SMS expired. Therefore it failed to be delivered and final DLR with a FAILED status got sent.

DELIVERED - Delivery fail
The SMS got buffered due to a temporary network issue and got delivered by retry.

FAILED - Delivery fail - Delivery fail
The SMS got buffered due to a temporary networks issue and which could not get resolved before the validity period of the SMS expired. Therefore it failed to be delivered and final DLR with a FAILED status got sent.

FAILED - no route to destination
The destination MSISDN belongs to a network which is not covered. Therefore the delivery failed as our system does not provide a route to the destination network.

FAILED - Delivery fail - SMS lower layer not provisioned
The SMS delivery failed to handset specific issues

DELIVERED - Illegal MS
Illegal MS is also an intermediate status which causes that a message gets buffered and is in retry on the delivering SMSC. In case it got delivered the MS of the subscriber was not illegal/out ofr coverage.

FAILED - Unknown subscriber - Absent subscriber
Unknonw subscriber simply means that the number is invalid/not in use.

Absetn subscriber means that the user is not online in the network -> Handset off and/or out of coverage. In case the subscriber comes online before the validity of the SMS expires it will get delivered. In case he is not online again within 48hours (very common defaulf value) the delivery will fail.
